“I just can’t think of the word.”
We all get that ‘tip of the tongue’ experience from time to time, and know how frustrating that feels. Then sometimes the wrong word comes out and everything gets confused. Or maybe you spent so long trying to come up with a name or a word that you have forgotten the question you were asked or the story you were telling.
In a social setting this ‘tip of the tongue’ hesitation can knock your confidence in taking part in conversations. But if the people you are talking to understand why the words may not be flowing they can make room (and time) for the chat and listen more.
Professor Dawn Langdon explains what happens in MS when you can’t find the word you want.
